AN EXCITING evening of music, showcasing local instrumentalists, is being offered, in Proserpine.
Proserpine High School presents a Gala Concert, on Thursday, September 15, starting at 6.30pm.
Due to take place at the Performing Arts Centre, the evening will consist of performances by the Primary and High School Concert Bands, the High School Big Band, Orchestra and String ensemble.
It has been two years since the Cannonvale and Proserpine Primary school students have been joined to form ‘The Little Kids Big Band’.
“In preparation, these students will be playing together in a day workshop prior to the event,” a spokesperson said.
“This year, we are delighted to welcome local community bands to the Performing Arts Centre, with the Citizens Band coming to ‘sit in’ with the High School Band.
“The Whitsunday Big Band will also feature in the Gala Concert and will be joined by young musicians from the High School.
“It is a great evening for new musicians to be mentored by experienced musicians and enjoy where their musical journey can take them.”
Anyone who has attended the Gala Concert in the past will know that it is a fabulous night of music and catching up with friends.
“We all look forward to presenting an exciting evening of music making, showcasing local instrumentalists at a beautiful venue.”
