Barra Bash at Lake Proserpine

THE WHITSUNDAY Game Fish Club is holding its [lure only] ‘Barra Bash’ at beautiful Lake Proserpine, over the weekend of March 22 to 24, based at Camp Kanga.  

This is open to men, ladies and junior club members, and non-members who wish to join in can join the club at the briefing and registration at Camp Kanga, on Friday, March 22, at 7pm at the discounted rate of $35 per adult and $20 per junior. This membership will extend until July 31, 2024. 

This membership will include the club’s Trevally and Queenfish Rally, on Sunday, May 19, with a briefing, nomination and tackle tips on Friday, May 17, at 6pm at the Whitsunday Game Fish Club, in Altmann Avenue, Cannonvale

It will also include the mackerel, redfish and trout Rally, on Sunday, July 14, with the briefing, bait rigging night and nomination on Thursday, July 11.

Nomination for the ‘Barra Bash’ is free and fishing from a boat or the lake’s shoreline is at your leisure, any time after the briefing until cease fishing at 12 noon, on Sunday, March 24. 

The presentation of prizes for a photo, including date of the longest barra, taken on a brag mat, to the champion male, female and junior anglers. 

If you need a rest from fishing, join in a family friendly game of tennis ball cricket at Camp Kanga, on Saturday afternoon, or sit around the campfire and tell, or listen to a few fishy tales.

You will need to obtain a Stocked Impoundment Permit online from the D.P.I. website.  This will be a fun weekend for everyone.
