A NEW Patisserie has officially launched at Coral Sea Marina, offering a range of sandwiches, sweets, and freshly baked pastries every day.
Berry and Maple officially opened on Friday, December 16 after initially making its start on the Gold Coast as a cake business.
Founder of Berry and Maple, Tammy Dominici was working from home while she baked cakes for multiple weddings and birthday a week.
Mrs Dominici and her husband moved back to the Whitsundays six months ago and temporarily shut the business until the right opportunity came up.
Tammy met her husband at the Star Casino on the Gold Coast, before he convinced her to move to the Whitsundays and encouraged her to branch out on her own.
Working as the pastry chef at Coral Sea Resort, Mrs Dominici approached the resorts owner about her idea for a patisserie on the Marina and just a few short weeks later, Berry and Maple opened its doors.
Berry and Maple will offer a range of items that Mrs Dominici has learnt to bake over the years and that she thinks the public will love too.
On offer will be a whole range of pastries from standard croissants and danishes, to the little more interesting cruffins or nutella brioche rolls.
“My favourite is the lemon meringue pie cruffin” Mrs Dominici said.
“It’s croissant dough, baked like a muffin, then filled with silky lemon curd, and topped with torched Italian meringue and vanilla crumble.
“We have a selection or delicate cakes and ready to go celebration cakes. We will also be taking custom cake orders for weddings and birthdays”
Berry and Maple will have house made bagels, both made into sandwiches or singularly. As well as offer catering options like the DIY Bagel Pack and Penny Lane coffee blend which has hints of salted caramel, dark chocolate and cinnamon that Mrs Dominici believes will be the perfect accompaniment to Berry and Maple pastries.
“I’m super excited to open our doors and share my creations with everyone. Because at the end of the day, food always tastes better when shared with others.”
