THE ANNUAL Proserpine Show ball was a raging success, with event organisers welcoming more than 500 guests through the doors.
The Proserpine Show Ball raises funds for the Proserpine Show Grounds and the annual Show Whitsunday.
This year, the event was catered by Aquava Boutique Catering, and Proserpine Show Ball committee member Grace McDonald said the catering business outdid themselves.
“The food was amazing! Aquava Boutique Catering outdid themselves and really had everyone mentioning how great the food was all night long,” she said.
Live music played throughout the night with Luella Music rocking the stage, as well as Kelly Llewellyn and The Redhanded Band, who travelled from Brisbane to be at the show.
“We had live music from six to close, playing the best music, and they did an astounding job keeping the dance floor alive all night long,” Ms McDonald said.
Ms McDonald said the atmosphere at the event was electric.
“We like to call it the event of the year, on the Whitsunday calendar, and we are so happy that it has become such a highly anticipated event,” she said.
“We always sell out really quickly.
“The atmosphere was electric and to look around and see everyone having a great time mingling, with huge smiles on their face, was amazing.
“One of my favourite parts is always when people are leaving and yell ‘can’t wait for next year’ as they walk out the door.
“It really just shows how great a community event it is, and how much people enjoy and appreciate the work we put in to pulling it off.”
The committee wish to say a big thank you to the sponsors and raffle prize donors, in particular the gold sponsors, GJ Gardner Homes, Whitsunday Law, Locus Surveys, Burnups Furniture Court and Live Life Pharmacy, Cannonvale.
And also thanks to Rob Murolo with his team of volunteers behind the bar, working hard all night to keep everyone refreshed.
