THE ANNUAL Whitsunday Sports Expo is back for another year and is due to be held on Saturday, February 4, from 9am until 1pm, at the Whitsunday PCYC, Jubilee Pocket.
The annual Whitsunday Sports Expo is where all sports and community clubs from the Whitsunday area can exhibit their activities, skills, and representative pathways.
The expo is coordinated by the Whitsunday Sportspark, which is the only public sports field in Airlie Beach.
The Whitsunday Sportpark aims to get more kids and adults active and moving, through sports and community activities or clubs.
The sporting clubs that are home to the Whitsunday Sportspark include Sea Eagles AFL, Raiders Rugby, Whitsunday Touch, Netball Whitsunday, and the Whitsunday united Football Club.
The Whitsunday PCYC is dedicated to building safer, healthier communities through youth development.
Sergeant Billy Li said the PCYC was looking forward to the annual event.
“We are looking forward to another successful event this year, the entire PCYC will be open for all team and individual sports to showcase their sports,” Sgt Li said.
“The Sports Expo is a great opportunity for kids and families to learn about what’s available in our area, at the start of the year, especially for families who have recently moved to the Whitsundays.
“There are great benefits of playing sport and being part of a club or team. It is not only great for fitness and mental health, but also good for social and personal development.”
Families can obtain the details on the activities available for both adults and kids, plus travel requirements, costs, training nights, skill levels, representative pathways and more, all in one place.
