Lunch at The Rocks Restaurant…Mmmmm!

Must read

THE ROCKS Restaurant offers fine dining with some of the best views anywhere in the Whitsundays!

Located at Coral Sea Marina Resort, The Rocks offers an al fresco atmosphere while also providing cover, with expansive views of the Coral Sea.

The oceanfront restaurant is currently offering a three-course lunch special, for a limited time.

On arrival, guests can enjoy focaccia with balsamic and olive oil, perhaps accompanied with a chilled glass of wine or cold beer from the extensive beverage menu.

There is a choice of three main courses including chargrilled black onyx rump with charred broccolini, roasted capsicum puree and jus; fried or grilled Coral Coast barramundi with chips, salad and homemade tartare sauce; and pesto spaghetti with sundried tomatoes, broccolini and Stracciatella cheese.

To top it all off, there is a lush, tropical coconut pannacotta, with Bowen mango, passionfruit salsa and Queensland macadamias

The lunch special is running for a limited time and costs $55 a person. Bookings are essential.

Resort manager Luke Anderson has been making his mark on what is, undoubtedly, one of the best loved restaurants in the Whitsundays, including bringing in a new chef, Michael Dominici, and new restaurant manager, Santiago Lera, earlier this year.

With new management brings new menus and service styles, with a relaxed approach to modern Australian dining, which sees an amazing array of fresh, local seafood options and exciting desserts.

Mr Anderson said The Rocks was getting great feedback from resort guests and he wanted to let local residents know they too can dine in the oceanfront restaurant.

“Local residents can come and dine at the restaurant at any time but bookings are essential as it is a resort restaurant and can fill up very quickly,” he said.

“If diners want to also use the pool facilities while here, then they are very welcome for a small charge, which includes a pool towel.”

The resort itself has been on the same spot since the 1970s and has undergone two major refurbishments – one in 2000 and another in 2019 under the current resort owner Paul Darrouzet, who also owns Coral Sea Marina.

With more exciting renovations still to come, Coral Sea Resort is definitely setting a standard for boutique resorts in the region.
