OCTOBER WRAP-UP
OCTOBER is always a big month at Tourism Whitsundays, we had the Whitsundays Tourism and Business Awards, on October 20, 2023, where we saw more than 30 businesses walk away with a Gold, Silver or Bronze award.
Over 300 people attended the evening, at the Proserpine Entertainment Centre, to celebrate. The Awards are a massive undertaking for the team and one they are eager to take on every year.
Following the awards, we hosted over 30 domestic and international travel buyers for the Whitsundays Tourism Exchange.
This annual event is attended by 31 local tourism businesses all looking to build better relationships with the travel buyers and ensure their products are top-of-mind for travel agents, in the represented companies.
It was another great, successful event, thanks to everyone involved!
AIRLIE BEACH FESTIVAL OF MUSIC
This first day of the Airlie Beach Festival of Music kicks off tomorrow night, with the Passport to Airlie finals, on the Main Stage.
This year’s event will host Dragon, Ian Moss and Ross Wilson, as they clock up 50 years in the music industry.
It’s set to be another incredible festival, with 14 venues hosting acts, tickets are still on sale.
A three-day pass is only $300 and it gets you into tomorrow night’s finals and the afterparty on Monday!
Only got a day? There are day passes available for Friday, Saturday and Sunday that will get you into all the venues, including the Main Tent.
END-OF-YEAR CELEBRATIONS
November is the final networking event for Tourism Whitsundays. This year, we are joining forces with the Whitsunday Chamber of Commerce and Industry for a combined, end-of-year celebration.
As part of our collaborative celebration, we are forgoing prizes on the night in favour of an online Silent Auction to raise money for the Whitsunday Neighbourhood Centre Adopt-a-Family appeal.
It will come as no surprise that the Whitsunday Neighbourhood Centre is helping more and more families this year and, together, we can help bring Christmas to some of these families.
Auction items include accommodation at Hamilton Island, Daydream Island, Palm Bay Resort, Magnums Airlie Beach, and Pinnacles Airlie Beach.
There are also experiences with Red Cat Adventures, Ocean Rafting, Salty Dog Sea Kayaking, and more. Additionally, there is a 3kg box of prawns from Tassal, and art classes available.
