Cannonvale skatepark upgrade opens

Must read

STAGE TWO of the Cannonvale Skatepark upgrade is complete and was officially opened on Friday, December 15, 2023.

Stage 2 includes a new skate bowl on the ocean side of the basketball court and skate park.

Member for Dawson Andrew Willcox was in attendance, as well as Division 1 Councillor Jan Clifford (pictured with members of the council team).

The new bowl provides a challenge for intermediate and advanced skaters, with the street style park (Stage 1) more suitable for beginners and intermediates.

Local pro skaters from Grind Shrine Skateboard Shop held a fun event, on Saturday, December 16, to ‘christen’ the bowl, including lessons, games, best trick competitions, prizes, food truck and live music!

The works, which started in October and finished on time, were supported by the Australian Government’s ‘Local Roads and Community Infrastructure’ grant program.
