RESIDENTS had a lucky escape after their kitchen set alight, on Sunday evening (July 21).
Police, ambulance and fire services all attended the scene, at Macarthur Drive, Cannonvale.
The Queensland Ambulance Service said no patients were reported at the house fire, with the call received at 6.09pm.
Three fire crews attended the blaze, with the first crew arriving at 6.20pm.
A media spokesperson for Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said there was a ‘small fire in the kitchen area’.
“Crews worked to control the fire and it was extinguished by 6.35pm,” the QFES spokesperson said.
“It was only 10 minutes. It was just cooling down hotspots after that.
“Our crews left the scene just before 8.30pm.
“They were doing some atmospheric testing to make sure it was all clear, and some ventilation to clear the smoke.”
