IT’S TIME to get those rods ready and start prepping for the tuna rally this weekend!
The Whitsunday Game Fish Club’s Billfish and Tuna Rally is a one-day event, due to be held on Sunday, September 29, 2024.
The Rally will be contested using GFAA open line classes and will be a great opportunity for teams competing in the Ben Doolin Light Tackle Tournament (October 10-13).
Fishos can fine-tune their tactics and check out their favourite area for bait schools and feeding game fish.
The Rally Briefing and Registration is on Thursday, September 26, from 6pm, at the club in Altmann Avenue, Cannonvale.
It will be followed by a very detailed workshop on how to tie good knots, rigging baits and lures, using both “J “and circle hooks, along with a host of handy tips on boat and tackle set-up and tagging fish.
“Everyone is welcome to come along on Thursday night. The bar will be open and the sausages sizzling,” club spokesman Ashley Moore said.
“This will be a very informative evening for fishos of all ages and levels of experience.
“So bring the whole family and, if you are keen to join the club, membership forms will be on hand.”
