WE ALL had a fantastic night at the Whitsundays Tourism Awards, last Saturday (October 19), at Daydream Island Resort.
With more than 360 guests celebrating, it was a true showcase of the amazing talent in our tourism industry.
Sponsored by Bishopp, Cruise Whitsundays and Airlie Beach Hotel, the evening was filled with entertainment, delicious food, and plenty of dancing.
The awards celebrated both new and familiar faces in the tourism scene, highlighting the creativity and hard work that make the Whitsundays such a special place to live and visit.
Tourism Whitsundays sends a huge congratulations to all the entrants and winners.
This week, Ben and Cait are off to Meeting Place, Australian Tourism Export Council’s biggest trade event happening on the Gold Coast, from October 28 to 30.
This three-day event is a great opportunity for networking, conferences and connecting with over 500 industry leaders and international travel buyers.
It’s shaping up to be the biggest and best Meeting Place yet!
Also on the horizon is the Destination IQ Forum, making its return on November 13, at The Star Brisbane.
This annual First Nations tourism conference is all about discussing trends and opportunities, while celebrating the important contributions of First Nations tourism to Queensland’s landscape.
In the same week, we will be attending the Queensland Tourism Awards, where the winners will be celebrated at a gala ceremony, and some may even get the chance to compete at the national Qantas Australian Tourism Awards.
Lastly, on a personal note, I’m signing off for the last time as Interim CEO.
I’m looking forward to handing things over to our new CEO Tim Booth in the coming weeks!
By interim CEO Aimee Cameron.
