THE WHITSUNDAY Swimming Club (WSC) took 14 swimmers to Mackay Swimming Academy’s 51st GBR Meet, in Mackay, over the weekend at the ARC.
This meet was the club’s biggest medal haul in quite some time.
There were outstanding swims by every single swimmer with awesome cheering and support from the entire team.
This meet saw George come home with five Gold medals from all his swims.
We had a Gold and Silver for newcomer Alissa at her first meet for WSC and she smashed her PBs at the same time.
Other medal winners were Mae, Mia, Hayden, Leyton, Jayde, Alex and Axel.
Emeilia swam in the under 7s for the first time as a WSC member and smashed out two amazing PBs.
Ivy was a superstar all weekend, achieving seven PBs from seven swims, including a 34.6 sec PB for 200m Breaststroke and 20.74 sec PB for 200m Freestyle.
Ti swam brilliantly, making four PBs and perfecting his diving skills.
Chloe was on fire, swimming a massive nine swims and bringing home PBs for four.
Georgia showed us who was boss and swam five swims, with PBs for four, and winning the Nike raffle prize to finish off an incredible weekend of racing.
Thank you to coach Jenny, from Aquatic Rush, for all the intense training over the last few weeks, it certainly paid off as the results speak for themselves.
And thank you for mentoring and supporting the swimmers over the weekend and every other day.
A huge congratulations to all swimmers for a fantastic weekend and showing such amazing support and camaraderie for your team.
