Obituary
Harold Hurst and his wife Ollie were described as carefree, kind, kindly and full of humour by the Bowen Independent journalist. Harold was typical of the old seafarers who have been, by words in the Bowen/Whitsunday area, plying their trade in a variety of boats and welcomed by local families such as the Hallamms of Hayman, the Nicholsons of Lindeman, the Bauers of South Molle and the Thorogoods at Long Island. Harold will be remembered by his many friends as ‘one of nature’s gentlemen.’
