New club house set for Grand Opening

Must read

THE WHITSUNDAY Sportspark Club House will officially open later this month, offering a community hub for sporting groups and residents.

Club Whitsunday is the new hospitality club at the Whitsunday Sportspark, Jubilee Pocket.

It comes at a cost of $8m and follows years of negotiations and hard work by the sportspark committee.

The club house boasts a restaurant, bar and gaming room, and will be open seven days a week.

It will have its Grand Opening on Monday, January 20, 2025.

The club house is a not-for-profit venue, with all proceeds going back into supporting sporting groups and other non-profit groups in the community.

There is a large, shaded spectators’ terrace to watch the many and varied games and matches every week.

The Whitsunday Sportspark hosts the local rugby union, AFL, soccer, netball and touch football clubs.

The Sportspark regularly hosts carnivals and exhibition games and is an important community hub for events, with PCYC Whitsunday right next door.

Whitsunday Sportspark committee chairman Justin Butler said it had been a long road to get to this point.

“The Club House finally has all its licences, approvals and financials in place,” he said.

The club house was ready last year but ‍there were delays due to securing Queensland Government approvals to freehold land and obtaining Liquor and Gaming Licenses.

So get ready to support the club that supports your sports!
