SOMETHING exciting is happening in Proserpine.
Creative Connections Whitsunday (CCW) is working to transform the old Proserpine Information Centre into a vibrant community art gallery through its ‘Frame Our Future’ campaign.
This space will be ‘more than just a gallery’.
“It will be a place for local artists to exhibit, a hub for creative workshops, and a welcoming spot for people to gather, learn, and connect,” a CCW spokesperson said.
“The building itself has great potential but needs some help.
“We need to enclose the veranda, add soundproofing (it’s less than 10 metres from the highway), and fit it out with everything from flooring and lighting to furniture and workshop materials.
“It’s a big job — but we believe, an important one.”
Once complete, the gallery will offer real value to the whole community, the spokesperson said.
“It will encourage tourism, support local businesses, and help shape Proserpine as a cultural destination.
“Most importantly, it will give locals a space to express, create and come together.
“If you’re able to support us, we’d be truly grateful. Every contribution — big or small — helps make a real difference.”
There are two ways to give:
