That’s why, two months ago, we reduced all grower memberships to a single flat rate of $550.
It’s part of our commitment to making sure every grower has affordable access to strong, local representation and the support they need to grow sustainably.
Over the past year, BGGA has delivered tangible outcomes for our region.
We secured funding to develop a pilot processing plant to transform reject produce into value-added products—turning waste into opportunity.
We’ve rolled out the national Fall Armyworm surveillance program, providing growers with critical data for pest movement and management.
Through SmartAg, we have saved members thousands of dollars on upskilling and training, while our members also received over $200,000 in grant assistance for ag-tech solutions.
In November 2024, BGGA hosted ‘Grown In NQ’, bringing over 40 horticulture products and services to region, offering the opportunity to get hands-on with the latest developments in ag-tech and understand the impact for agri-businesses.
And we’ve stood up for our region, advocating at the state level for recognition of our unique growing challenges and the vital role our growers play in feeding Australia.
We continue to work closely with Biosecurity Queensland on issues such as Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus.
And we offer services that make a difference every day – on-farm extension support with our Regional Development Officer, workforce and training assistance through our Workforce Development Officer, and school and community connections through the ‘Pick of the Crop’ program.
