THE AUSTRALIAN Defence Force is alerting the public to increased military activity for Exercise Talisman Sabre 2025, including in Bowen, Midge Point, Bloomsbury and Whitsunday Islands.
Australia will host the largest ever Exercise Talisman Sabre from July 13 to August 4, 2025.
Over 30,000 military personnel from 19 nations are set to participate in activities across Australia and Papua New Guinea, as part of the training exercise.
Talisman Sabre 2025 will focus on multi-domain warfighting.
Key activities will include amphibious and airborne lodgements, firepower demonstrations, and combat across land, air, sea, space and cyber domains.
Leading up-to and during the exercise period, there will be an increased presence of Australian Defence Force and participating nation’s personnel, aircraft, equipment and vehicles.
Talisman Sabre will utilise a number of locations across Australia and offshore, including both Defence and non-Defence training areas.
“We ask the community to be aware of, but not alarmed by, these activities,” an ADF spokesperson said.
“Training exercises help ensure the Australian Defence Force remains in a ready state of preparedness in the protection of Australia and its national interests.
“Community support to continue this important training is appreciated.
“Noise reduction and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of military flying.”
