THE ANNUAL Whitsunday Lions Charity Golf Day has once again raised a staggering amount for local organisations.
On Friday (July 19), cheques were presented to Proserpine Hospital Auxiliary, and to the Whitsunday Suicide Prevention Network, at a ceremony held at the Whitsunday Green Golf Club, Cannon Valley.
The Whitsunday Lions Club, in conjunction with partners Whitsunday Green, once again hosted a very successful Charity Golf Day, on June 23, 2024, attended by a good crowd of competitive players.
This year’s event was the biggest yet, raising $12,000 for donation to needy local causes.
The cheque presentation was attended by representatives from both organisations, with light refreshments provided by Whitsunday Green.
“Whitsunday Lions and Whitsunday Green once again sincerely thank our business and golfing supporters, who so willingly contributed to the success of this annual golfing event,” Whitsunday Lions Club’s Allan Gravelle said.
“It really is a great way to raise money, while enjoying a great sport at a magnificent venue.
“It was another great day and the third year that we have run it. We’ll all be back again next year.”
