From the Bush to the Beach

Must read

THE WHITSUNDAY Running Club’s Trail Fest is back again this year, on September 10, 2023, with participants having just one month from now to get their registrations in if they want to take advantage of the Early Bird special.

The Accom Whitsunday Trail Fest 2023 will be in its 18th year, from its original concept by the Mackay Road Runners, in 2005, when the club introduced the 28km trail event.

The event is now organised by the Whitsunday Running Club, which has been running the event for the past eight years.

In that time, the event has grown from the original 28kms to now include the WTF 58k Shokz Ultra, the WTF28k Accom Whitsunday Trail, the 10.5k Honeyeater Ray White Challenge and introducing a new Survivors Beach Bash this year, sponsored by Tarkine Shoes.

The course runs through the beautiful Conway Circuit, which is part of the Conway National Park ranges.

“It’s a lush tropical landscape that has big hills and big views,” a running club spokesperson said.

“It is a beautiful time of the year to be running the trail in the Whitsundays.”

Out-of-region runners are encouraged to make the most of visiting the Whitsundays by extending their stay in the region and they are pointed towards accommodation and trip options.

Participants receive a medal and an event shirt with their registrations.

Early Bird registrations close on July 31, 2023, with early birds going into the draw to win a half-day Whitehaven Beach trip, from Cruise Whitsundays, for two people.

Registrations close Thursday, September 7, 2023 unless sold out prior.

Tickets are available at www.runwhitsundays.com.au Contact info@runwhitsundays.com.au for further information about the event.
