Ngaro track opportunities for businesses

Must read

PROPOSED new nature-based visitor experiences have opened up opportunities for experienced tourism operators.

The Queensland Government, through the Department of Environment, Science and Innovation (DESI), is inviting suitably experienced individuals, organisations or consortiums to submit their proposals to operate new, nature-based visitor experiences, on the unique Ngaro track, Whitsunday Islands National Park, through an expression of interest (EOI).

“The government may consider multiple operators to be suitable, based on assessed experience and capability to deliver desired outcomes,” a spokesperson said.

“It is anticipated that the EOI invitation will be the sole opportunity for operators to express interest in an authority to conduct commercial activities on the Ngaro track.

“Due to be completed in December 2024, the multi-day walking track and two Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) camp sites (including associated infrastructure such as communal shelters and toilets) are available to be used as part of this opportunity.

EOIs close at 4pm on May 10, 2024.
