NightOwl gets behind sick kids

Must read

NIGHTOWL Airlie Beach owners Roz and Nick Woodham have broken records for this year’s NightOwl OwlGood national fundraising campaign, taking the title of the first store to sell out of their 120 wall tokens.

From now until October 17, customers across NightOwl’s 84 stores can grab their daily essentials and support the Children’s Hospital Foundation at the check-out, through the purchase of a wall token for $2.

Roz and Nick’s strategy was straightforward: The pair asked every single customer who walked into the Airlie Beach stores – at the top and bottom end of the Airlie Main Street – to get behind the campaign.

It took just two days to completely sell out of tokens! For local customers who missed out, the wall tokens have been restocked and are available to purchase until the campaign ends.

All funds raised will help children like five-year-old Sebastian Leonardi, who was diagnosed with juvenile pilocytic astrocytoma – a type of brain cancer – at just two years old after doctors found a tumour in his brain.

In 2022, NightOwl customers across the country got behind the inaugural OwlGood fundraising campaign in a big way, raising $36,826 for the Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Children’s Hospital Foundation CEO Lyndsey Rice said she was thrilled to see the return of OwlGood, to help change the lives of sick and injured kids across the state.

“Each breakthrough in research, purchase of a new piece of equipment or a load eased by our team at the hospital – that is because of the generosity of partners like NightOwl, who allow us to continue to invest into the health and wellbeing of children and young people,” she said.

“A $2 donation on check-out can make a huge impact for sick kids and we are incredibly humbled to have the support of the NightOwl community once again in 2023.”
