Mr Reg Gregor, from Dunoon, has returned to Proserpine for the Lions Harvest Festival. He will paint on canvas tents, dissect them, and the paintings will be auctioned at Filby’s Motors, on Saturday morning. Ray Baumgarten will be the auctioneer.

Demartini family celebrates 25 years
Demartini & Co (brothers Ron and Mario) have celebrated 25 years in business, starting their electrical business on May 21, 1959. Carl Holzl built their business block, in Main Street, in 1961.
Swimmers Star
Whitsunday Swimming Club was represented by 10 swimmers at the Great Barrier Reef Carnival, in Mackay, last weekend and acquitted themselves very well. Also on October 21, a small team went to Bowen for the Borthwicks Shield and performed well.
Motorcycle Race Benefits Ambulance

Wheels Stolen from Crashed Car
It was a double misfortune for Michael John Tayard, of Gladstone, when his utility overturned on the highway opposite the airport turnoff and then, when Brian Davy from RACQ arrived to salvage the vehicle next morning, all four wheels had been stolen.

The bill for amendment of the Qld Tourist and Travel Corporation Act was passed in State Parliament, on Wednesday October 24, enabling development of the Beak, off Shute Harbour, to begin.
Obituary
Mrs Elizabeth Olive Ironside, aged 85, died at her home last Sunday afternoon. She was the wife of Mr W J Ironside (Bill) who, for many years, was the proprietor of the Eldorado Theatre in Proserpine.
