THE PROSERPINE Whitsunday Uniting Church has announced the launch of its Brick-by-Brick fundraising campaign.
It was officially launched on Tuesday, August 1, in an effort to rebuild after being devastated by Cyclone Debbie, in 2017.
The historic church served the local community for nearly 125 years, and is now appealing to the nation for support to raise an additional $250,000 to rebuild.
“For decades, the Proserpine Whitsunday Uniting Church has stood as a testament to the unwavering faith and spirit of the community,” Reverend Suzy Sitton said.
“Through trials and triumphs, we have been a haven of support, providing invaluable pastoral care and guidance to generations of individuals and families.
“However, Cyclone Debbie unleashed a devastating blow, resulting in the demolition of our church and leaving an empty corner block in our community.”
The Brick-by-Brick campaign offers an opportunity for individuals, or businesses, across the country to sponsor a brick.
There are five levels of sponsorship available, and sponsors may choose to remain anonymous or honour the memory of a loved one.
