A CANDIDATE for the Federal Senate has taken a different approach to his campaigning.
Duke Wong is a proud Queenslander and has campaigned on a platform of ‘Power Back to the People’.
“I’ve heard it everywhere I go. People are sick of being ignored, dismissed, and spoken down to,” Mr Wong said.
“I’m not polished, packaged, or protected by the media. I’m not backed by millionaires. I’m just one of you – a regular Queenslander, giving power back to the people.
“While the major parties pick sides and play games, our communities suffer.
“I won’t play that game.
“My mission is to unite Queenslanders, rise above the party brawls, and focus on what matters: Schools, hospitals, roads, jobs and your everyday cost of living.
“Let’s shut down the noise and get to work. We, the people, are taking our power back.”
Throughout his campaign, Mr Wong has taken a different approach.
“Over a four-month period, I’ve personally visited 36 towns outside the southeast Metro area.
“To the best of my knowledge, no other Queensland candidate has made this kind of commitment.
“I did so because I believe that genuine representation begins with listening, something that can only be done face-to-face, on the ground, with the communities that too often go unheard.
“This commitment doesn’t end with the campaign.
“I’ve pledged to revisit all 36 towns during each term of service and, at six per year, I know it is entirely achievable.
“I’ve also committed to inviting the other 11 Queensland Senators to join me, so we can collectively better understand and represent all Queenslanders.
“I can only promise to offer and cannot guarantee they will accept.”
