THE COMMUNITY is invited to come together for the party of the year and raise vital funds for prostate cancer research at the same time.
The Shag Islet Cruising Yacht Club (SICYC) is famous for its parties, which started many years ago at Cape Gloucester, alongside the famed Shag Islet.
SICYC is a not-for-profit organisation created for cruising sailors and boating people who enjoy the camaraderie and friendships made on the ocean.
The rapidly growing club has brought together more than 7,000 members, from around Australia and the world, to join in its ‘light-hearted revelry’.
Members are all identified as Vice Commodores, with the club’s catchphrase being ‘exclusively non-exclusive’.
Every year, ‘Shaggers’ as they are affectionately known, host their flagship event ‘The Rendezvous’, at Cape Gloucester, where it all began.
‘The Rendezvous’ attracts hundreds of boats, and their fun-loving crews, and is four days of fun and games with new and old friends.
“As a member, you will instantly become a part of a fast-growing family of likeminded people from all over the world,” a spokesperson said.
“And with membership being around the price of a good bottle of red wine, you can’t go wrong.
“If you’re not already a member, it’s time you became one!”
Bookings for ‘Rendezvous 2025’ are now open, with all profits going to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
The four-day celebration will take place from Thursday, August 28, to Sunday, August 31, 2025.
All the information and how to get tickets is here Rendezvous Info – SICYC – Shag Islet Cruising Yacht Club.
Red Cat Adventures and SeaLink Whitsundays are proudly supporting the event by operating return ferry services, from Coral Sea Marina to Cape Gloucester, on Friday, August 29, and Saturday, August 30, 2025.
