BOWEN’S Vee Jay’s Kalfresh will be showcasing its experience using the robotic farming platform ‘Robotti’, on Friday, October 13, 2023.
Vee Jay’s Kalfresh farms 550 hectares of winter tomatoes, capsicums, pumpkin, beans and sweet corn, and have embraced today’s technology, on-farm.
Vee Jays has worked extensively with industry and government to adopt precision farming and conservation agriculture practices and are now venturing into robotic field platforms.
Organised by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, the Vee Jay’s Kalfresh field day will showcase technology adoption strategy, economics, and learnings from working with Robotti, since April 2023.
Presentations will include a field demonstration and introduction to Robotti and robotic platforms in farming with Braden Hellmuth from Farm Concepts.
The afternoon will also cover the economics of Robotti versus traditional tractor/operator, and a Q&A session with Jacob Jurgens, Jamie Jurgens and Braden Hellmuth.
The event – from 3pm to 5pm AEST at Smiths Road (north of Merinda, left turn off Bruce Highway) – will end with a ‘meet and greet’ with refreshments and a BBQ featuring Vee Jay’s Kalfresh fresh produce.
