ONE OF the UK’s most successful glam rock bands of the seventies will be strutting their stuff at this year’s Airlie Beach Festival of Music.
Glam rockers SWEET are a national British Treasure and a rock music phenomenon, and will take the stage on Sunday, November 10.
They took Australia by storm in the 1970s, having 13 Top 50 hits downunder, including two number ones – Ballroom Blitz and Fox on the Run.
The SWEET Farewell Tour will see them performing all their other timeless hits as well, including Love is Like Oxygen, Wig Wam Bam, Blockbuster, Teenage Rampage and Hell Raiser.
Plus, as an added bonus for Australian audiences, Peppermint Twist will be added specifically for these shows.
The band today has an illustrious pedigree, recreating live the high energy and soaring vocals associated with the SWEET sound that is the band’s trademark.
Few bands typified the seventies as much as SWEET, with their tight, spangly outfits and long flowing hair adding to the spectacle.
Join them for a night of pure nostalgia as the SWEET perform all their greatest hits on their Farewell Tour of Australia.
