Tickled Pink: Raising money for a vital cause

Must read

QUOTA Whitsunday will be hosting a Pink Lunch, on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in support of the McGrath Foundation’s mission to ensure that no one goes through breast cancer without the care of a breast care nurse.

The ‘Tickled Pink’ lunch will take place at the Metropole Hotel, Proserpine, and guests will enjoy pink games, cocktails, competitions and raffles.

The McGrath Foundation raises funds to support people with breast cancer by providing specialist McGrath Breast Care Nurses, where they are needed most, right across Australia.

It is through the support of community groups such as Quota Whitsunday that the McGrath Foundation can continue providing this crucial support to families experiencing breast cancer.

“It’s the McGrath Foundation’s goal to fund 250 McGrath Breast Care Nurses this year, as we work towards our mission of ensuring that no one misses out on care,” McGrath Foundation ambassador and director Tracy Bevan said.

“Events like this are truly helping us to make a difference and move towards that goal; we couldn’t do it without you!”

Event organiser Jacqui Barrett said everyone at the club was excited to turn pink and support the McGrath Foundation.

About the McGrath Foundation

The McGrath Foundation’s mission is to ensure that no one goes through breast cancer without the care of a breast care nurse.

We raise funds to help families impacted by breast cancer by placing specialist McGrath Breast Care Nurses where they are needed most across Australia.

McGrath Breast Care Nurses are registered nurses specially trained to manage the care of people with breast cancer, from diagnosis and throughout treatment – for free.

There are 204 McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities across Australia who have supported more than 127,000 families since 2005.

Breast cancer is the most diagnosed cancer for women in Australia and more than 20,000 people are diagnosed each year.

With a rising rate of diagnosis, the need for more McGrath Breast Care Nurses continues to grow.

Funding is needed to meet our goal of 250 McGrath Breast Care Nurses this year.
