NORTH Queensland’s agricultural sector is the backbone of our community, driving innovation, sustainability and growth.
The Bowen Gumlu Growers Association (BGGA) is proud to announce that nominations are now open for the 2025 North Queensland Agriculture Excellence Awards.
These awards honour the outstanding individuals and businesses that make significant contributions to our region’s agricultural industry.
The awards span a wide range of categories to capture the diversity and strength of our local industry.
The Farming Business of the Year, proudly supported by AUSVEG, recognises a business that exemplifies excellence in production, innovation and industry engagement.
The Lifetime Contribution to Farming Award, sponsored by Filby’s Motors, honours a dedicated individual whose decades of service, leadership and resilience have made a lasting impact on North Queensland agriculture.
We’re also celebrating the next generation through the Emerging Leader in Agriculture Award, again supported by AUSVEG, which shines a light on a young person (35 years or under) making impressive strides in their field.
Innovation is front and centre in the Ag Tech Industry Impact Award, which acknowledges individuals or businesses embracing technology to shape the future of farming.
And finally, the Community Stewardship Award recognises those who go above and beyond to support the social fabric and wellbeing of our rural communities.
Nominations opened on May 6, 2025, and winners will be announced at the North Queensland Growers Gala Dinner on August 30, in Bowen – a night dedicated to celebrating the achievements of our agricultural community.
We encourage all members of the agricultural sector to participate by nominating themselves or others who exemplify excellence in their field.
This is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the hard work and dedication that often goes unnoticed.
The team at BGGA is also on hand to assist with nominations, so please get in touch if you have any questions or would like support.
Let’s come together to recognise and celebrate the remarkable contributions of our agricultural leaders.
