Tourism Whitsundays launches new campaign

Must read

By CEO Rick Hamilton

LAST WEEK, we held our first networking night of 2024, with more than 100 people in attendance. It was a fantastic night.

We presented our new campaign to everyone – The Whitsundays: Perfect – which is now live in our key markets of Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, plus our Bonza direct flight markets of Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Newcastle.

We strongly believe that the Whitsundays has a perfect holiday for all holidaymakers.

Whether that’s an adrenalin filled, fast-paced holiday, or a relaxed, island escape, or something in between – it’s all here in the Whitsundays.

The campaign will have two spikes of activity – one on now and the second in April/May – these are available for our members to buy into, to increase their market reach and bookings.

If you are a member of Tourism Whitsundays, and would like to know more about campaign options, please contact Laura on laura.knipe@tourismwhitsundays.com.au.

Also at the networking, on Thursday, February 29, we welcomed our new PR and content executive Rosanagh Gallivan to the Whitsundays.

Rosanagh starts officially with us on Monday (March 4), and we’re excited to have her on the team and in the Whitsundays.

We also farewelled Mayor Julie Hall from her ex officio position on our board and from her position as Mayor.

Mayor Hall has been a great advocate for the tourism industry and has had a remarkably inclusive approach to our large and diverse Local Government Area.

We wish Mayor Hall all the best in her future endeavours and look forward to our paths’ crossing again.

Next week, we travel to Destination Australia, in Sydney, and then onto Darwin for the Australian Tourism Awards, to celebrate our members who have made it to the national awards through winning at a state level, last year, in Queensland.

The Whitsundays had a record-breaking number of wins at the state awards, in November, and we have our fingers crossed for wins for Ocean Rafting, BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort, Pinnacles Airlie Beach, Magnums Accommodation Airlie Beach and Whitsunday Coast Airport.

Best of luck to everyone and we’re looking forward to celebrating with you!
