Tourism Whitsundays Update by CEO Rick Hamilton

Must read

LAST THURSDAY, Tourism Whitsundays hosted another brilliant networking event at the Reef Gateway Hotel, Cannonvale, doubling as a festive celebration for the Whitsunday News’ 4th birthday.

The event drew over 100 attendees to network and celebrate—here’s to wishing Whitsunday News a happy birthday!

During June, we also held a successful roadshow along the East Coast and Adelaide, accompanied by 17 other operators from the Whitsundays region.

The aim was to educate retail travel agents and product managers about the diverse array of experiences and accommodations available in our region.

Over a whirlwind four-days, our group visited Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, Gold Coast, and Brisbane, engaging with close to 300 agents and product managers.

These events provided valuable opportunities to reconnect with familiar agents who have long supported our region, as well as to introduce the wonders of the Whitsundays to new agents eager to explore our offerings.

Looking ahead, we will be sharing our FY25 Marketing Plan with our members in the coming weeks.

As a team, we held a productive FY25 Strategy Day, where we covered marketing, public relations, membership growth, industry development, visitor services enhancements, and trade relationships.

With aligned goals and strategies in place, we are set for a productive and engaging year ahead, remaining committed to showcasing the beauty and diversity of our region to a growing audience of visitors and industry professionals.
