IN VERY exciting news, we’ve just welcomed our first direct flight from Adelaide thanks to Jetstar, which landed on Sunday.
This new route is a fantastic development for our region, and our marketing campaign is now in full swing, aimed at spreading the word and encouraging our friends from down south to experience all that The Whitsundays has to offer.
This week, our team has been in Brisbane for Experience Queensland – Southeast Asia and India, an event organised by Tourism Events Queensland.
It’s been a great opportunity to connect with key trade partners and gain valuable insights.
While we were there, we attended a strategic update from TEQ, where senior industry leaders discussed achievements, challenges, and opportunities for tourism and events in Queensland, with a special focus on the lead-up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Our team has also been busy working with local operators to highlight the best accessible tourism experiences and accommodations in the Whitsundays.
With valuable guidance from Whitsunday Prosocial, we’ve been out on shoots with Cruise Whitsundays, Driftwood Tours, and at Daydream Island, capturing what makes our region accessible to all.
We’re excited to share these features soon and showcase our commitment to making The Whitsundays a welcoming destination for everyone.
As if that wasn’t enough excitement, we’re also gearing up for the Whitsundays Tourism Awards.
Mark your calendars for October 19, 2024 – this is when we’ll gather at the stunning Daydream Island Resort to celebrate the very best of our region’s tourism industry.
We’re thrilled to announce that Bishopp will be the naming rights sponsor for this year’s awards.
As Australia’s leading regional out-of-home advertising company, Bishopp’s support underscores their commitment to local businesses and communities, making them a perfect partner for this event.
With the awards just around the corner, we invite everyone to join us in celebrating the achievements of our tourism industry.
It promises to be an unforgettable evening, so don’t miss out on what’s sure to be a highlight of the year!
