Visitors enjoy tours around Bowen

Must read

By Leanne Abernethy, manager Bowen Tourism and Business

SOUTHERN visitors travelling to our region on coach tours have been enjoying a guided tour of Bowen, in recent weeks.

Our staff and volunteers jump on the bus at the Big Mango and provide commentary to these tourists, as they check out the beauty of Bowen.

The guides provide commentary about our history, culture, industries and natural beauty.

The coach tour goes past our murals, our historic jetty, up to Flagstaff Hill and out to our secluded beaches and bays.

At Bowen Tourism and Business, we offer these tours all year round but they are usually popular in July and August.

Our team of staff and volunteers are very knowledgeable about all things Bowen and enjoy taking these visitors on a tour of our beautiful town.

Bowen is the hidden gem at the top of the Whitsundays and some of these travellers want to come back another time after seeing what we have to offer.

Meanwhile, the team at Bowen Tourism and Business continues to be busy with a lot of visitors coming to visit our beautiful town and region.

We welcomed more than 5,800 visitors, in August – an increase of almost 30 per cent on the previous year.

September also started off strongly, with the Don River Dash proving popular again, and there are strong bookings for accommodation in coming weeks, with the school holidays almost upon us.
