THE WHITSUNDAY Brahmans Rugby League Football Club has donated a staggering $3,500 to the Whitsunday Neighbourhood Centre, following a hugely successful Ladies Day.
The annual Ladies Day took place in August, at Les Stagg Oval, Proserpine, and coincided with the club’s last home game of the season.
Everyone came dressed in their best pink outfits – some of the players even wore pink tutus! – and there was a Mega Raffle with 14 incredible prizes to be won, as well as a lucky door prize for one attendee.
Grazing platters and finger food flowed freely at the 18+ event, as did the drinks package!
Four games of rugby league were played including Masters, Under 20s, Reserve Grade and A Grade.
One of the highlights of the day was the A Grade Jersey Auction, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Neighbourhood Centre to support those in the community who need it most.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone there, the auction raised a stack of money and $3,500 has gone directly to supporting the Neighbourhood Centre’s vital work in the community.
“We are so pleased to announce, that we as a club have donated $3,500 from our Ladies Day Jersey Auction to our local Neighbourhood Centre, to support woman and families in need within our community,” fundraising co-ordinator Sarah Milne said.
“Our club is committed to supporting local charities, businesses and community members throughout the on and off season.
“A huge thank you to all our supporters and members who purchased a Ladies Day Jersey at the auction, on Saturday, August 3.
“Thank you to our local businesses and community for donating amazing prizes for our Mega Raffle.
“It was an amazing day for our ladies and all the other attendees.
“See you next year for a bigger and better event!”
