YEAR 11 student Charlotte Adams has been selected to represent Australia in the Pro-Elite team, at the Horseball World Cup 2025, at just 16 years old.
Due to take place in Bueno Aires, Argentina, from March 24 to March 30, 2025, the Horseball World Cup 2025 will see five players compete from the Whitsundays.
Horseball is an equestrian sport that is like a combination of rugby and basketball, played on horseback.
It is a fast-paced team game, with the objective of scoring goals by throwing a ball through a hoop.
The Whitsundays team trains at Handz on Horses, Strathdickie.
The other players are Linda Gray (coach), Katie Maund, Amy Gray, Lachlan Gray and Sonja Rechnitzer.
The team will be competing against countries such as France, Italy, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Argentina, Mexico, Japan, Chile, Great Britain, Uruguay, USA and Canada.
“Horseball is a very popular sport in Europe and it is gaining momentum across the globe,” Charlotte’s mother Belinda said.
“Charlotte is one of five Whitsunday players selected to compete on the Australian team, on the international Horseball stage.”
Charlotte, who is from Jubilee Pocket, and the rest of the team are seeking sponsorship from the community, as they prepare to represent their country in Argentina.
