LOCAL art organisation Whitsunday Art Fusion will hold a series of creative workshops, in Proserpine, throughout 2025.
Whitsunday Art Fusion (WAF) received funding from the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) to host the workshops.
“The workshops are designed to encourage community connectivity and wellbeing, through creativity,” WAF spokesperson Belinda Curry said.
“Following community consultation, they are designed to bring, where needed, qualified creative workers to the region, and employ those already in the Whitsunday region.”
The workshops are for all abilities and suitable for ages 12 years and older.
The first workshop – Photography with Mackay artist Stacey Nicholson – was heavily subscribed.
It was scheduled for March, however, due to the wet weather it has now been rescheduled for July 19, 2025.
There are a few places remaining.
In April, Jellena Demartini presented a demonstration in experimental painting techniques including the use of a range of new media products.
Those who attended experienced a taste of what to expect in Jellena’s upcoming workshops, in August.
The next workshop to be held is Sculptural Flower construction with Lalune Crocker, on May 31, 2025.
This is a free workshop, though numbers are limited and bookings are essential.
On June 14 and 15, Glenda Vickers will host a series of Visual Journalling workshops linking creativity and wellbeing.
All workshops are held at the Proserpine Showgrounds.
