FAMILY retailer Best & Less launched a new partnership with Starlight Children’s Foundation (Starlight) at the end of last year, with the aim of bringing joy to sick children over Christmas.
They have now announced that the total amount raised was more than $204,000, with staff at the store at Whitsunday Shopping Plaza, Cannonvale, doing their bit.
Through in-store donations during the months of November and December, customers could get behind the partnership and help create the joy, fun and happiness seriously ill children need to get through the toughest times.
For over 30 years, Starlight has brightened the lives of seriously ill children, young people, and their families.
Starlight provides hospital services that are integral to the total care of seriously ill children.
While health professionals focus on treating the illness, Captain Starlight is there to lift the spirit of children and deliver a healthy dose of positive distraction.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Starlight Children’s Foundation and make the lives of seriously ill children, a little brighter,” head of marketing Janine Van Deventer said.
“Family is so important to us as a brand and we want to extend that passion to Starlight, supporting families through some of the toughest moments of their life.
“We had hoped to raise $100,000, so to raise more than double that is amazing.
“It will help Starlight grant additional wishes to sick kids and their families. Our customers have been so generous.”
Starlight continued to be there for sick kids through the recent pandemic challenges.
There are no fewer seriously ill children and young people in hospital and they need the fun, joy, laughter and connection Starlight brings now more than ever.
