Forum a mouthpiece for transport operators

Must read

KEY TRANSPORT providers in the region now have their own forum.

The Whitsundays Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently hosted the inaugural meeting of its newly established Ground Transport Operators (GTO) Sub-Committee, bringing together key transport providers from across the region.

The Sub-Committee has been formed under the umbrella of the Whitsundays Chamber to serve as a formal conduit through which transport-related concerns, opportunities, and recommendations can be effectively communicated to major regional and state stakeholders.

Chairperson Anthony Nobilia hailed the meeting as a significant and positive step forward.

“The inaugural meeting of the GTO Sub-Committee was a resounding success,” Mr Nobilia, who is a Chamber board member and owner/operator of Airlie Beach Executive Services, said.

“It was a true testimony to the passion and commitment that ground transport operators put in each day.

“It was inspiring to see such a strong turnout from professionals who are united in their goal to advocate for fair, effective solutions and to deliver on a collective objective.

“I’m excited about the future of this committee and look forward to developing it into a strong and credible tool to facilitate meaningful change and, importantly, to protect the integrity of ground transport businesses in the Whitsundays.”

Chamber President Allan Milostic said he ‘deeply appreciated’ time spent volunteering.

“We deeply appreciate our members who volunteer their time and expertise to help shape the Chamber’s advocacy and serve as ambassadors for the Whitsundays business community,” he said.

The inaugural members of the GTO Sub-Committee are:

  • Anthony Nobilia, Airlie Beach Executive Services
  • Darrell Storey, Airlie Beach Party Bus
  • Ian Paczensky, Whitsunday Transit
  • Jim Sherrington, Whitsunday Transport Company
  • Rabia Morris, Whitsunday Wheels

The Sub-Committee will meet quarterly and engage directly with major stakeholders and relevant authorities.
