Motorcycle rider seeks sponsorship

Must read

A MOTORCYCLE rider from Bowen is preparing for the next round of the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) in the Supersport 300 class and also the R3 Cu, this year.

Henry Snell is 16 years old and is known as ‘the Bullet’ by some.

He dreams of pursuing a motorcycling career and his family is seeking sponsorship.

With an impressive track-record so far, Henry is currently one of the fastest junior riders in Australia and the only rider from North Queensland competing at the highest level in motorcycle racing.

In early 2020, he was accepted into the Oceania Junior Cup (OJC).

“I was previously a dirt bike rider and for my first road race I qualified on the front row, riding in the wet,” he said.

“Unfortunately, after the first round, COVID hit and I was locked in Queensland unable to practice or race.”

This year, Henry came back racing and, after two rounds, he led the 300cc championships.

Meanwhile, in the third round, in April, an untuned new bike made him fall in the second qualifying session.

Nevertheless, he still scored third position and will be going into the fourth round, in August.

However, to do so, his family seeks sponsorships to take his career into the next level.

“To keep Henry competing and give him the chance to achieve his dreams of winning the Australian Championship and then heading over to Europe to take on the world’s best, we desperately need some sponsorship,” Henry’s dad Rodger Snell said.
