Mr Stink comes to life in May

Must read

DAVID Walliams’ award-winning book Mr Stink will come to life on stage and is suitable for everyone in the family.

This charming, original Australian adaptation plays at the Proserpine Entertainment Centre, on May 2 and May 3, 2023, as part of the show’s first national tour since 2017.

“Mr Stink stank. He also stunk. And if it was correct English to say he stinked, then he stinked as well…”

It all starts when Chloe, just about the loneliest girl in the world, makes friends with Mr Stink, the local tramp.

Sure, he smells a bit, but he’s the only person who’s ever been nice to her. So, when Mr Stink needs a place to stay, Chloe decides to hide him in the garden shed.

Now Chloe’s got to make sure no one finds out her secret, but she’s about to learn that some secrets have a way of leading to disaster.

And speaking of secrets, there just might be more to Mr Stink than meets the eye… or the nose…

The team behind The Midnight Gang, The Gruffalo and The Storey Treehouses return with this touching, twisted and hilarious, and very smelly, tale – hold on to your nose!

Critics and audiences alike raved about the production, with The Daily Telegraph saying it was ‘boisterous fun…the young audience…thoroughly enjoyed this quality production’.

The heart-warming and comical adaptation will enthral and amuse audiences of all ages.

Mr Stink is a CDP Kids Production, by Maryam Master. Based on the book by David Walliams and directed by Jonathan Biggins.

CDP is one of Australia’s most experienced independent touring producers, having toured nationally and internationally for 20+ years, and was described by The Age as ‘a reliable and prolific source of high-quality children’s theatre’.

In 2020, CDP was one of the first professional theatre companies to hold live performances post-lockdown, and the first professional company to re-commence touring interstate.

Mr Stink will play at 6pm, on Tuesday May 2, 10am on Wednesday, May 3, and then again at 12pm, on Wednesday, May 3. For more information visit www.proserpineentertainmentcentre.com.au
