Whitsunday’s Toughest Race

Must read

ON JULY 30, 2022, Whitsunday’s Toughest Race was held on the Whitsunday Great Walk, in support of victims of domestic violence.

The race is hosted by the Queensland Police Service and included nine teams from all over Queensland.

A team from Bowen Police Station was again successful completing the race in record time.

Funds raised from the race were used to purchase toys for children and care packages for women forced to seek emergency accommodation after experiencing domestic violence.

On Tuesday, Sgt Mark Flynn delivered the gifts to Whitsunday Counselling Service, Cannonvale.

In an act of wonderful generosity, Big W Whitsunday donated $3,500 worth of gifts in addition to those purchased by the police.
