MULTI award-winning BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort, in Cannonvale, has celebrated 30 years’ bringing fun to holidaymakers visiting the Whitsundays.
Owned by the McKinnon family since 1993, the resort’s success is a testament to the hard work and continual investment by the family throughout that period.
Purchased as a rundown but operational caravan park, the three decades since have seen a phenomenal transformation to the 4.5 star, multi award-winning property that it is today.
The resort has won more than 45 major tourism awards throughout the years, with two generations of the family involved in the running of the business.
Enjoying the celebrations with a birthday party for guests and staff poolside, owner Greg McKinnon proudly shared how far they’ve come over the years.
“As a family, we are all immensely proud of what we have achieved,” Mr McKinnon said.
“We’ve developed a leading Queensland holiday park, but with all the offerings of an island resort.
“With the longevity we’ve had, our success stems from a multitude of factors – and there have obviously been ups and downs throughout the years – however, to stand here today and be so proud of what we have achieved is just fantastic.”
