Coles donates 1k to VMR

Must read

VOLUNTEER Marine Rescue (VMR) Whitsunday has issued a big thank you to Coles Cannonvale for its recent donation of $1,000 to the group.

Coles Cannonvale store manager Andrew McIntosh said Coles was thrilled to help the organisation stay on the water.

“Following the re-launch of our new-look store last month, the Coles Cannonvale team was thrilled to donate $1,000 to our selected charity of choice, Volunteer Marine Rescue Whitsunday, to help keep the organisation on the water,” Mr McIntosh said.

“As a not-for-profit volunteer organisation, VMR relies heavily on community support and fundraising to help save lives at sea, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“So, we couldn’t be prouder to support this vital service that greatly benefits the Whitsunday boating community.”

VMR Whitsundays’ Mal Priday said the VMR received very little in terms of government funding, so the donation from Coles was greatly appreciated.

“We appreciate the generosity of donors like Coles and appreciate the generosity and support we receive from the Whitsundays community,” Mr Priday said.

“Without the community’s support, we would not be able to maintain our Whitsundays Marine Safety Net.”
