BOWEN and Collinsville businesses have the opportunity to showcase their businesses this year as part of the Tourism Whitsundays annual awards.
In 2023, there will be categories for Bowen Business of the Year and Collinsville Business of the Year.
These are being sponsored by Bowen Tourism and Business (BTB).
All businesses, whether directly involved with the tourism industry or not, are able to enter the awards.
Bowen Tourism and Business chair Jenn Honnery said the organisation was proud to sponsor the business awards as part of the Tourism Whitsundays awards this year.
“We have more than 200 members and many of those are non-tourism businesses,” she said.
“We believe that tourism is everybody’s business.”
This is all about including all types of business and is a great way to showcase businesses from all parts of the region.
Some of our visitors come to Bowen for the entire winter, every year.
They support all types of businesses including hairdressers, retail stores, restaurants and mechanics.
As they stay for an extended amount of time, they need to get their cars and caravans serviced and they buy clothes, get their hair cut and go out for dinner.
The businesses providing these goods and services are complementing the tourism industry.
Submissions for these categories close on August 21, so you need to hurry.
The link for the submissions can be found on the Bowen Tourism and Business Facebook page.
